We are very grateful to Zane, the foreman, who kept us informed every step of the way about who was on site each day, and which areas were being worked on. Our home and garden were always left tidy at the end of each day, and your team of painters always worked cooperatively with the builders, gutterers, roofers and other tradesmen when they were on site. All the team displayed unfailing attention to detail throughout the project. Their hard work removing the many layers of existing paint was well worth-while, as it resulted in a smooth canvas for the fresh paint. We also appreciated the work on the pool shed, fences and walls that were not part of the original contract.

We would be very happy to recommend Sensation Painters for anyone considering an exterior repaint. We are delighted with the new paint work on our home and we are very proud of how it now looks.

We recently moved from Christchurch to Auckland and have completely gutted and renovated an apartment in an historic building in central Auckland. We were particularly impressed with the work Paul and his team did on the steel windows in the apartment which needed to be ground down and primed in accordance with heritage restoration best practice, due to rust and the poor condition they were in. The paint job on the hard plaster walls and ceilings was also of a very good standard.

As I didn’t know any painters in Auckland, I got a recommendation from the Master Painters Association and Paul was one of the people they recommended, so he is obviously well-respected in the industry. He was very approachable and professional, and had good communication skills. He had no problem coming back and doing small touch ups and I would have no problem recommending him to my future interior design clients.

I have worked with Paul and his team on both residential and commercial painting projects and have found him to be honest and a good communicator. He sets very high standards and doesn’t cut corners with his work. For example, if there are rotten weatherboards that need replacing he will let you know, rather than just bogging them up. He is extremely well regarded in the industry and I believe you pay for what you get. He isn’t the cheapest painter in town, but in my opinion, you end up with a much better job which will be less costly in the long run, as your paint job has a longer life.

We found Paul and his team to be extremely professional and very respectful in the re-stain of the exterior and tidy up of the interior of our home. They worked in a very clean and tidy manner which we really appreciated. The quote of costs and estimate of time was accurate and all areas were well prepped, including a thorough wash before re-staining of the exterior of the house. We were impressed and very happy with the end result.

We are delighted with the work that Sensation Painters carried out for us.  It was a very large job being the inside and outside of a two storied house.  Dear Paul, I am energetically writing this letter as a reference for you and your team for the work Sensation Painters completed in working with Gaze Commercial on the large refurbishment of the Dilworth Building Level 2 on the corner of Customs and Queens Streets, Auckland Central. 

This project was a heritage refurbishment in which your scope of work comprised of the restoration of steel joinery and the interior finishes to the 850m² office fit-out and staircase. The heritage joinery had to be fully stripped, re-glazed and painted which was a task all of it’s own. This project ran over a 12-month period, working in with many other sub-trades and various residential, commercial and retail tenants. 

Sensation Painters workmanship and finishing was very thorough on the project. The quality of work was fantastic which complimented the level of service you provided. Your team on site were professional, polite and presentable when dealing with myself and the other stakeholders. You were clear communicating when communicating with things like programme and foreseeing any issues that needed to be address. 

Upon reflection, for what appeared to be a simple commercial build out was more complicated due to the many parties involved. I appreciate your service and commitment to the project and look forward to working with you on the next one. 

We are thrilled with Paul and his team at Sensation Painters who painted our house during an extensive renovation and extension. This included striping back existing external surfaces, and painting the new exterior and a completely new interior. Their attention to detail was fantastic and we frequently get comments remarking on the high quality of our paint job. The team were great to work with, very tidy, personable and helpful. Paul’s team have done two jobs for us. They painted the exterior of our villa 4 ½ years ago which we were very happy with. Our house had not been stripped back for many years and the sash windows were also painted shut. Of the three painters who quoted for our job, Paul was the only one who understood exactly what we wanted and the quality of finish we expected. The house was stripped to bare boards, the windows removed (repaired and rehung by a builder that Paul arranged), then everything was prepped and repainted. The work was impeccable and is still in very good condition 4 ½ years on.

More recently he painted the interior throughout after we did a major renovation to the villa and added a modern extension. Once again we were very happy with quality of the workmanship, and the attention to detail was extremely good. His team were timely and polite, and I would highly recommend them.

I have known Paul since 1999. My company, Upper Harbour Builders Ltd, has worked with him and his team on interior and exterior painting jobs since then. He has a great team who are very trustworthy, honest and do top-notch work. They have a wealth of knowledge and are able to deal with any unusual situations they come across.
